Q & A Session – Last Chance Appeals

0

Ask the Lawyer received the following question (paraphrased for easier reading and clarity) from a reader on a legal matter that might be of interest to the entire audience.

Q:

How often are last chance appeals granted?

A:

Last chance agreements are voluntary on the part of both the agency and the employee. Your agency may or may not agree to one. If you are removed, you can appeal to the Merit Systems Protection Board and appeal for a last chance agreement or a settlement. The agency does not have to agree.
